Our Impact

Building Healthier Community
  • When families and individuals have stable, affordable, attainable housing it means they have more money in the budget for healthcare costs including preventive and essential healthcare and fresh, whole foods to stay healthy.

  • Mental health outcomes are better and stabilized adults have better attendance at work and are more connected.

Encouraging Self-sustainability
  • Reduced risk eviction and utility shutoff in our housing programs gives families and individuals the space to develop their own plan for moving forward.

  • They develop a household budget and learn where their money is going.

  • In a community there is encouragement and accountability to stick to their plan and follow their budget.

Connected to Community.
  • Building on community partnerships and developing new partnerships means families and individuals are connected to the supports they need to be successful.

  • Households find connection with one another to build their own support system and share resources and time together.

Strengthening our Schools and Community.
  • Our partnerships with the schools in our community mean more communication of the needs of children and their families and the ability to work closely together to help meet those needs.

  • Providing community access to shared resources and public space for households to gather together and spend time together builds relationships with one another and other members of our community.

HOUSING FIRST. FOOD FIRST.

ABOUT US

HOTH seeks to provide affordable housing in community developments and transitional housing through The Guesthouse program, as well as access to fresh foods and groceries via The Grocery program, enhancing the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in our community.  Each HOTH initiative is designed to help families and individuals stabilize on a path to self-sustainability by giving them the tools and opportunities to get there.  Currently HOTH is Board supported, ED directed and volunteer run.  Our Board members as well as the volunteers who serve are not monetarily compensated.  We do it to see people and families restored.  We operate through the generosity of others and the partnerships we build within the communities we serve.

For more information on any specific initiative or for specific information about our Board and operations, please email us at houseonthehillbg@gmail.com or call us at 270-532-3595. We'd love to connect with you or your group/organization to see how we can partner to help families and individuals in this community become self-sustaining.
